Kimberly Madigan is a founding partner of Seeley & Madigan, LLP, a San Mateo family law firm representing clients throughout the Bay Area. She is admitted to practice law before all courts in the State of California.
In 2012 and 2013, Ms. Madigan was named a "Rising Star" in family law by Super Lawyers on the basis of peer recognition and professional achievement.
She will be serving as the 2014 co-chair of the Family Law Section of the San Mateo Bar Association.
Ms. Madigan has practiced family law exclusively since 2006. She handles both litigated and mediated family law matters. Her practice at Seeley & Madigan, LLP focuses on divorce, (including complex property allocation and division), child custody, parentage (paternity), child support and spousal support, and domestic partnerships. She has completed 24 hours of mediation training with the Northern California Mediation Center and frequently works as a consultant, or "reviewing attorney," for individuals who have elected to mediate their divorce.
She takes a strategic approach to her cases and collaborates with other professionals, including forensic accountants, mental health practitioners, and real estate valuation professionals, when appropriate.
Prior to founding Seeley & Madigan, LLP with her partner, Yvonne Seeley, Ms. Madigan was an associate with Hersh Family Law, a firm that specializes in complex and high-asset dissolution cases.
Ms. Madigan began her career at Alexander, Holburn, Beaudin, & Lang, LLP in Vancouver, Canada, ranked by Canadian Lawyer magazine as one of the top ten regional firms in Western Canada. There she was second chair counsel for several trials and an appeal before the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
Ms. Madigan is an active member of the San Mateo family law legal community. In 2014, she will be serving as the co-chair to the San Mateo Bar Association Family Law Section. She is an occasional volunteer with Family Law Department 15 of Superior Court of San Mateo County; she participates in the American Association of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) Mentor Group; and, she is a member of the following professional organizations:
